MAKING PEOPLE HAPPY

President Bush, First Lady Laura and Dick Cheney were flying on Air Force One. George looked at Laura, chuckled and said, "You know, I could throw a $1,000 bill out of the window right now and make somebody very happy." Laura shrugged her shoulders and replied, "I could throw ten $100 bills out of the window and make ten people very happy." Cheney added, "That being the case, I could throw one hundred $10 bills out of the window and make a hundred people very happy." Hearing their exchange, the pilot rolled his eyes and said to his co-pilot, "Such big-shots back there .
Shit, I could throw all of them out of the window and make 56 million people very happy ."

Synchronize Computer's Time - Chronograph 6.20

Chronograph is a simple utility that synchronizes your computer’s internal clock to the atomic time. Standard internal clocks are usually very incorrect, and need frequent manual corrections. Chronograph automatically maintains correct time using atomic clock servers of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The program is extremely helpful for every computer user. It is a must have for professionals who need correct time permanently (e.g. stock traders). Chronograph provides a high degree of accuracy – the difference between local computer time and actual time after correction will rarely exceed 0.5 seconds. This slight difference is caused by an unavoidable network transmission delay. Main features: * Manual, periodical and wait-for-connection operating modes. * High stability. Program automatically connects to another server when the current server is down. * Ease of use. After the initial setting, which takes about one minute, the programs works automatically in background and doesn’t require any user attention

Protect your password in cyber cafe and on public computers:

Some time or the other, you must have used cyber dafe or public computers to access internet or mail. Public computers are most prone to password hacking. Anyone can simply install a keylogger software to hack your password. Keylogging is one of the most insidious threats to a user's personal information. Passwords, credit card numbers etc. It is now very easy for the keylogger to harvest passwords. Each and every keystroke (whatever you type on the keyboard) gets recorded in the keylogger software and the person installing it can easily view what you have typd in. For example, if you go to hotmail.com and check your mails. Say your ID is aaabbbccc @ hotmail . com and password is snoopy2. the keylogger software records your usename and password in its log file as

Risky isnt it???!!!

There's solution to this problem and you can easily fool the hacker. The keylogger software sees and records everything, but it doesn't understand what it sees. It does not know what to do with keys that are typed anywhere other than the password or user name fields. So, between successive keys of the password if you enter random keys, the keylogger software wont ever come to konw where you typed in what.. In the process of recording the keys, the string that the keylogger receives will contain the password, but embedded in so much random junk that discovering it is infeasible. So... 1.Go to hotmail.com or yahoo.com or any of the site where you need to insert a password or PIN. 2.Type in your user ID. 3. Type in the first characterof the password. 4. Click on the address bar in the internet explorer or Firefox. Type in some 3/4 random charachters. 5. Again go to password field and type in the second character of the password. And probably third too. 6. Again go to the addressbar and type in a few mroe random character. 7. Back to the password field and the next characters of the password. Keep on repeating the process till you type in the full password in the password field. Instead of the password snoopy2 the keylogger now gets: hotmail.comspqmlainsdgsosdgfsodgfdpuouuyhdg2 Here a total of 26 random characters have been inserted among the 7 characters of the actual password!!! No doubt it takes a little bit of more time than the usual process, but you're safe and secure that way!!!

PhoneTray Dialup

Yes, you can stay online without missing important calls when you are using dial-up internet! PhoneTray Dialup will notify you when someone is calling while you are online. You can choose to take the call or ignore the call. With PhoneTray you can put internet on hold and answer incoming calls without disconnecting from the internet. Plus, you get full-featured Caller ID software that shows and speaks callers name and number, logs all your incoming calls, blocks unwanted calls and zaps telemarketers.

Get phone calls when online

PhoneTray Dialup lets you receive and screen phone calls while you are online. The program uses your V.92 modem and Call Waiting service from your phone company to detect an incoming call. If you have Caller ID on Call Waiting, also called Call Waiting ID or Visual Call Waiting, PhoneTray will show the caller's name and number, so you can decide if you want to answer the call or ignore it. If your internet provider supports Modem-on-Hold, you can put internet on hold, take a call and continue browsing after you finish talking. Other Internet Call Waiting services like AOLCallAlert, CallWave, Pagoo or BuzMe transfer your calls to their call centers. They know who's calling you and can subject your callers to advertisement. PhoneTray Dialup doesn't transfer your calls anywhere. It uses your modem to get Caller ID information supplied by your phone company. So your privacy is protected and you are in complete control of your calls!

Know who is calling when online and offline

PhoneTray uses your modem to identify the callers before you answer the phone. You must subscribe to the Caller ID service from your phone company and have a Caller ID capable modem. PhoneTray shows a balloon with the caller's name and number. The program also announces incoming calls using text-to-speech engine. You can set a different ringtone for each caller or type of callers. 20 ringtones are included with the program plus you can use any wav file.

Keep a complete history of your incoming calls
PhoneTray logs all incoming calls received while you are online or offline. It keeps the date, time, name and phone number of each call. You can view a complete call history or calls received today, this week or this month. You can select what type of calls you want to see - all calls, local calls, long distance calls etc. Call history is stored in a standard CSV file and can be edited and exported to other programs using Microsoft Excel.

Protect your privacy

Privacy Manager allows you to configure how PhoneTray handles incoming calls. For example, you can set PhoneTray to automatically answer all calls from private (blocked) numbers after first ring and play a message telling the caller to unblock his/her number. PhoneTray can block calls from specific numbers or reject any other type of unwanted calls (blocked number, out of area etc.) by answering and playing selected message. Several useful messages are included with PhoneTray. You can also record your own wav files and use them with the program. If you don't want to be bothered by late calls you can set your "quiet time" and PhoneTray will block all calls during that time. Important numbers can be marked so they ring through anytime. All Privacy Manager settings including names and numbers are stored in a standard CSV file and can be imported from or exported to other programs using Microsoft Excel

PhoneTray can automatically 'zap' telemarketers with a special 'number disconnected' tone. After receiving this tone telemarketer's computer will delete your number from its database. The program can play Federal 'do-not-call' warning forcing telemarketers to remove you from their calling lists - by law! You can set the program to reject unwanted calls manually or automatically after selected number of rings. If you select to zap the calls manually the program pop-ups a dialog and lets you decide if you want to zap this call or not.

System Requirements: * Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 or Windows Vista * V.92 Modem (more info) * Call Waiting service from your phone company * Call Waiting Caller ID service recommended

Mobile Tips

Dear All, When you try to call someone through mobile phone, you are not advised to put your mobile phone closer to your ears until the recipient answers; Because immediately after dialling, the mobile phone would use it's maximum signalling power, which is: 2watts = 33dbi; Please be careful. Please use left ear while using cell (mobile), because if you use the right one it will affect brain directly. Apollo medical team advised as such. Please forward this mail to all your well wishers

Indian Flag

The National flag is a horizontal tricolor of deep saffron (kesari) at the top, white in the middle and dark green at the bottom in equal proportion. The ratio of width of the flag to its length is two to three. In the centre of the white band is a navy blue wheel which represents the chakra. Its design is that of the wheel which appears on the abacus of the Sarnath Lion Capital of Ashoka. Its diameter approximates to the width of the white band and it has 24 spokes.

National Flag:On 15 August 1947 India and Pakistan were created. India adopted the tricolor of orange, white, and green with a blue Ashoka Chakra at the center. Unofficially this tricolor had been the flag of the Indian National Congress. The orange color represented Hinduism, color . There was a blue spinning wheel in the center which represented Gandhi ji's call for economic self-sufficiency through hand-spinning.Flag Adoption:The design of the national flag was adopted by the Constituent Assembly of India on 22 July 1947.Colors Of The Flag:In the national flag of India the top band is of Saffron colour, indicating the strength and courage of the country. The white middle band, indicates peace and truth with Dharma Chakra. The last band is green in colour shows the fertility , growth and auspiciousness of the land.
The Chakra: The spoked Ashoka Chakra in the center of the flag replaced the Gandhian spinning wheel to add historical "depth" and separate the national flag from that of the Indian National Congress. This Dharma Chakra depicted the "wheel of the law" in the Sarnath Lion Capital made by the 3rd-century BC Mauryan Emperor Ashoka. The chakra intends to show that there is life in movement and death in stagnation.

Preamble To The Flag Code of India:
The following is an extract from the preamble to the flag code of India as posted on the official Home Ministry website of the Indian government:"The significance of the colors and the chakra in the National Flag was amply described by Dr. S. Radhakrishnan in the Constituent Assembly which unanimously adopted the National Flag. Dr. S. Radhakrishnan explained - "Bhagwa or the saffron colour denotes renunciation of disinterestedness. Our leaders must be indifferent to material gains and dedicate themselves to their work.""The white in the centre is light, the path of truth to guide our conduct.""The green shows our relation to soil, our relation to the plant life here on which all other life depends.""The Ashoka Wheel in the centre of the white is the wheel of the law of dharma. Truth or satya, dharma or virtue ought to be the controlling principles of those who work under this flag. Again, the wheel denotes motion. There is death in stagnation. There is life in movement. India should no more resist change, it must move and go forward. The wheel represents the dynamism of a peaceful change."

Flag Code:On 26th January 2002, the flag code was changed. After 52 years, the citizens of India are free to fly the Indian flag over their homes, offices and factories on any day. Now Indians can proudly display the national flag any where and any time. There are some rules and regulations upon how to fly the flag, based on the 26 January 2002 legislation. These include the following: The Do's:1. The National Flag may be hoisted in educational institutions (schools, colleges, sports camps, scout camps, etc.) to inspire respect for the Flag. An oath of allegiance has been included in the flag hoisting in schools.2. A member of public, a private organization or an educational institution may hoist/display the National Flag on all days and occasions, ceremonial or otherwise consistent with the dignity and honour of the National Flag. 3. Section 2 of the new code accepts the right of all private citizens to fly the flag on their premises.

The Don'ts:1. The flag cannot be used for communal gains, drapery, or clothes. As far as possible, it should be flown from sunrise to sunset, irrespective of the weather. 2. The flag cannot be intentionally allowed to touch the ground or the floor or trail in water. It cannot be draped over the hood, top, and sides or back of vehicles, trains, boats or aircraft. 3. No other flag or bunting can be placed higher than the flag. Also, no object, including flowers or garlands or emblems can be placed on or above the flag. The tricolour cannot be used as a festoon, rosette or bunting.

Home Beauty Tips

To remove puffiness from the eyelids, massage a drop of very fresh castor oil on to them. To cool your eyes, make eye pads using thick slices of cucumber. Another option is to use cotton pads soaked in cold milk. Lie down and place them on your closed eyes and relax for a while. Putting a drop of rose water into each eye just before you sleep can also refresh you eyes. To prevent your lips from chapping, use hot water fermentation on your lips and then apply a mixture of vaseline and honey. Apply this mixture about three times a week. To prevent your lips from drying you can use a ground mixture or rose petals and milk butter. To delay age spots on your hand, use a piece of lemon and rub all over your hand, before washing. This will delay onset of age-spots. If you have no time to shampoo your hair before going out, then brush 1 tablespoon of talcum powder or corn flour through your hair. Try this out first when you are not in hurry to make sure that it works the way you want. To prevent hair loss you should have a biotin rich drink. Blend bananas with honey, yogurt and low fat milk. Drink this for a few weeks. While blow drying and setting your hair, blow-dry at hot on the roots of the hair. Roll your hair inwards or outwards at the ends. To improve the setting make sure the ends are evenly rolled in or rolled out. Heat the hair for a second and then let it cool. This process of setting the hair will last longer and make your hair look beautiful. To condition your hair, after shampooing your hair take some conditioner on your palm and rub it with both hands. Apply from the hair shaft moving downwards. Do not apply on your scalp. Rinse your hair after 5 minutes. To add extra shine and glow to your hair add 2 tablespoons of malt vinegar. Use it as a last rinse and towel dry your hair.

This is the Fact

All good things in the world belong to those who dare to Dream and work for it ...change is inevitable, so you decide whether you want to change for good or otherwise. Lets take control of our destiny and fight for our share of good things in this awesome world!!!

If you want something you never had, do something you have never done.

Don't go the way life takes you.
Take the life the way you go
and remember you are born to live and
not living because you are born.

Telephone Interview Skills

Looking for a job ? Chances are that you will be interviewed on the telephone! Never given telephone interviews? Don’t panic, given below are some tips that are sure to help you.
There are many aspects you need to know about telephone interviews. Let us begin with the elementary ones first.

Clarity of speech.
Are you aware of your vocal patterns? Do people clearly understand what you say? First hone your speaking skills, enunciate your words so that you speak very clearly. Try this following exercise:
Put a pencil between your teeth and start talking out loud. Speak the answers that you would normally give during an interview. Difficult, isn't it? If you are doing this right, you will notice that you are forming your words carefully, speaking more slowly, and consciously enunciating every word.
Now remove the pencil and speak with that same level of awareness. It will be a pleasure to be able to speak without any obstacles in your way, however, keep speaking as though the pencil were still there. Perform this simple exercise before your next telephone interview and you will be speaking more clearly.
One of the best ways to improve your telephone skills is to conduct a mock interview over the phone. Ask a friend/relative to call you and ask you typical interview questions. Keep a tape recorder with a microphone in recording mode running during the duration of your interview.
After you finish the mock interview playback the tape and analyse your performance. Are there any "uhhs", "aahs" or "errs" in your speech? Sometimes we tend to use vernacular words such as "Accha" or "ha" or "nahi". Work towards eliminating these words from your vocabulary. "Words like "frankly", "actually", "honestly" which creep in our vocabulary should also be eliminated.

Improve your listening skills.
Listen carefully to understand what the interviewer is saying. Sometimes it is difficult to understand the accent and it is awkward to request the interviewer to repeat the question. Get fimiliar with foreign accents. Watch some foreign movies and pay special attention to the language and accent. Try and understand every word of what is being said. Special language learning tapes are also available, TOEFL tapes are a common example of these. Get these tapes, listen to them and practice answering questions which are asked at the end of the tape. All this should improve your listening skills. Remember, if you must, ask the interviewer to repeat the question, but asking too often would create a bad impression and also waste time.

Practice these two simple things and you will drastically improve your telephone interviewing performance. Not only will you be speaking more clearly and professionally but you will also find that your everyday speech will improve and be much more effective. Who knows, you might even get that job a little faster

Before the Call

Make sure your resume gives correct and up to date contact info and the best time and method to contact you.
· Use a quiet, private room with a telephone in good working condition.
· Make sure you are in a place where you can read notes, take notes, and concentrate.
· When job-hunting don't use a silly or overly long greeting on your voicemail.
· Ensure that your household understands the importance of phone messages during your job search.
· Keep track of the jobs you apply to. You may be applying to dozens and dozens of jobs but it will hurt your chances and be very embarrassing if you can't remember a thing about the company or job when an employer calls you.
· Have a friend call you to do a mock phone interview so you can practice being interviewed over the phone. Let them ask you typical interview questions and then answer them. Get feedback on your voice quality and speech, or better yet, record the entire session on tape so that you can listen to it afterwards.
· Have an outline in front of you to remind yourself of key points to cover with the interviewer. For example, think about typical questions an interviewer might ask and note examples you will want to use to answer them. You don't want your responses to sound scripted, but you don't want to hesitate, or handle questions clumsily either.
· Have your resume and a list of accomplishments for each of your positions in front of you so you can remember highlights of your experience.
· Research the company, their products, their industry, and other pertinent information.
· Prepare questions to ask the employer.

FireFox 2

Download Now

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

Features

There’s a lot to do on the Web, and Firefox 2 is full of helpful features to make your time online more productive.

Improved Tabbed Browsing

We love tabs as much as you do, so Firefox 2 will open new web pages in tabs by default. Each of those tabs has its own close button, but don’t worry - if you accidentally close a tab, just go to the History menu to bring it back from the list of “Recently Closed Tabs.” You’ll never be crunched for space anymore, either. When you have too many tabs open to comfortably fit in a single window, scroll arrows will appear on either side, and a button on the right side will always show you an easy-to-read list of all your open tabs.

Spell Checking
Sometimes you’re in a rush, and can’t remember if it’s “i” before “e” or the other way around. Firefox 2 has built-in spell checking to keep you from making any mistakes in your blog posts and Web-based email, so you can worry about more important things.

Search Suggestions
Some of the search engines in Firefox 2 can read your mind, and actually suggest search terms for what you’re looking for. Just start typing into the Search bar, and a drop down list of suggestions will appear. (Works for Google, Yahoo! and Answers.com

The Web is a great place, but sometimes you’ll encounter bad people. Firefox keeps you safe from spyware, hackers, scammers and spammers, using the power of a vigilant and passionate community to protect you 24/7.
Phishing Protection

Phishing Protection takes Firefox’s security to a new level, helping to safeguard your financial information and protect you from identity theft. When you encounter a Web site that is a suspected forgery (known as a “phishing” site) Firefox will warn you and offer to take you to a search page so you can find the real Web site you were looking for.

Open Source, More Secure
At the heart of Firefox is an open source development process driven by thousands of passionate, experienced developers and security experts spread all over the world. Our openness and active community of experts helps to ensure our products are more secure and updated quickly, while also enabling us to take advantage of the best third party security scanning and evaluation tools to further bolster overall security.

Automated Update
Firefox’s update system always checks to see if you’re running the latest version, and notifies you when a security update is available. These security updates are small (usually 200KB - 700KB), giving you only what you need and making the security update quick to download and install. The automated update system provides updates for Firefox on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux in over 40 different languages.

Protection from Spyware
Firefox will not allow a Web site to download, install, or run programs on your computer without your explicit agreement. Period. You will be notified whenever downloading or installing software, and Firefox will always tell you what’s happening so that you can stay in control of your computer.

Clear Private Data
Firefox offers the ability to clear all your private Web browsing data with just one click with the “Clear Private Data” tool. You can be confident that when you clear your private data in Firefox it’s gone - whether you are using your own computer or one at the library.

Handicrafts

History mentions that crafting of these were limited to a section of people who were given royal patronage and were identified as people belonging to a specific caste (there were many castes and one such caste was in the business of making these artifacts). This type of segregation helped to give a unique identity to this industry over the times. Even today one would find the same authentic procedures involved in the making of such handicrafts strictly observed. These handicrafts are an integral part of the Sri Lankan culture. Sri Lanka being a country in the tropics, where many a colourful facades of nature are omnipresent, it is not out of place that many of these handicrafts are quite vibrant and dramatic.
